DIY -Natural Homemade freshners.

When it comes to Stanky things at home like animals, old upholstery and smelling food items. The one thing that we desperately need is a Room Freshner. And we are jaded by the fact that most of the Air Freshners come with scores of synthetic chemicals like Industrial petrochemicals to start with under their belt. In my case we have two kitties. They get stinky. And I rejected to buy air fresheners.

Health Hazards of Artificial Air Freshners.

First of all, air fresheners (also known as room fumigations, plug-in deodorizers, fragrance neutralizers, air Sanitizers, or aromatherapy candles) don’t get rid of smells; they just cover up them, either with fragrance or by disrupting your ability to smell by covering your nasal sensors with an oil layer or by creating a sensory numbing agent.

Known dangerous ingredients that can be discovered in air fresheners consist of chemicals, camphor, ethanol, phenol, petroleum-based synthetic perfumes (which contain their own mix of toxins) and benzyl alcohol. These ingredients can cause health signs like , skin rashes, dizziness, migraine attacks, consistent headaches, bronchial asthma , breathlessness and coughing and more. Some of the ingredients in air fresheners are also known harmful toxins and others are hormone disruptors.

Severity and activities as well as signs differ from individual to individual. But when used in a limited place like a house, the extreme amount of dangerous toxins in a little place can be especially difficult. Kids are particularly vulnerable to damage from ingredients in the inside air.

Asthma is an important issue relevant to air fresheners and fragrant cleaning items. In a 2007 Western analysis, scientists discovered that using air fresheners as little as once a week can raise the chance of developing bronchial asthma in adults. The epidemiological analysis, performed by the Center for Research in Ecological Epidemiology at the Public Institute of Medical Research in Spain’s capital. The researchers used guideline data from the Western Community Breathing Health Study group , one of the globe’s biggest epidemiologic analysis group of air born diseases. They discovered that the chance of creating bronchial asthma increased with regularity of use, but on average was about 30 to 50 % greater than those exposed to air fresheners.

Besides this scented and so-called aromatherapy candlestick light appear to be no better at clearing the air. Traditional candlestick lights are made of paraffin wax, a petrochemical that is a by-product of the fuel industry. And most of the fragrances are full of toxic industrial ingredients. The black smoke caught up from burning paraffin – and especially fragrant – candlestick lights is again hazardous. Soot contaminants are very little and are easily consumed and enter and settle down deep in the respiratory system. Despite laws and regulations against it, many candlestick draws popularity for room fresheners. Moreover lead content in these exhaust gases generated after burning these paraffin based products are linked to inhibited learning and brain damage in kids.

Recipe for Home Made Air Freshners.

It changes out I already had everything I required for a home made and EASY air freshener! No more smelling and a stinking home.

So here is a quick recipe to start with the most simplest recipe for a Natural Air Freshener.

What you need:

  • Suitable container (we used these)
  • Baking soda
  • Essential oil (Lavender oil , Lemon Essential oil)
  • Foil (or a lid you want to damage and stick gaps in)

This gets really complex so pay attention….

  1. Add everyday into container, about 1/4 complete. Add around 8 drops of an essential oil of your choice.

Oh. That is it. Just the one phase.

Well, add a lid if you want. You could punch some holes into the foil over the jar lid but I did not want to damage one. After covering the lid with the aluminum foil, I just punctured some holes. As this is to be kept above any shelf in your room, no will notice it out there. This gives us the freedom to choose the lid that you want..

Seriously the most convenient factor I’ve ever done. Every once in some time, go and make sure that you shake it that everything blends and freshens the smelly odors.

This is a great way to spice up the fragrances in your room with some good fragrances and odors.
